So long, farewell . . .

At the unearthly hour of 4:20 a.m. I'm getting out of Dodge and heading out to see. . . . . . a big hole in the ground.

But I might even get to see this on the way. I'd like to tell you I'm actually spending the night here.

But I'd be lying.

Instead I'll be riding herd over a bunch of high school band students at the likes of this.

Fun stuff!

Don't forget to to vote for your favorite Valentine's Day storyteller before midnight on Tuesday!

Have a great weekend!

Yay, it's the complimentary "Continental breakfast" for you, Missy! Unless those scavenger teen boys get to the sticky buns before you. I hope you're bringing a cattle prod with you.

Be safe. I expect you to know all the words to "100 Bottles Of Root Beer On The Wall", by the time you get back!

Oh, the Bellagio Fountains. I go stand in front of them every opportunity I get. I hope you get a chance to enjoy them.

Why, oh why haven't I ever been to the Grand Canyon? I've driven an hour from it over 20 times on my way from UT to TX but somehow I can never justify taking a few hours out to see the most incredible natural phenomena on the planet. I'm glad you're not stupid like me. Can't wait for the pictures!

Have a wonderful time. Make a wish at the big hole and throw in a penny (or an obnoxious band student if it apply's)

Word to the wise (and a hint about what's to come): when you go, try to make sure snow and fog are in the forecast!

I hope you don't mind me commenting but I've been a lurker for a short time. I came across it by way of Lyle's blog.

I just wanted to say thanks for being one of the wonderfully, brave parents who volunteer to chaperone! My son is on the trip with you. His name is Jake and he plays the french horn. I hope he's behaving himself! (He's usually pretty good.) Anyway, Thanks again!

D,
K came over to play with J & B and watched Jurassic Park. I walked in on him with his hands over his mouth in fright. I'll have to show you. It was so funny. I wish I had my camera, his face was priceless.
